A photographic project about the Muller Orphan Houses in Bristol: five grey, austere, Victorian buildings built in the second half of the 19th Century. When fully occupied over 2000 orphaned and abandoned children were housed within its walls. When the homes closed in the 1950s over 20000 children had passed through their doors. On arrival each child was issued with a uniform and allocated a number by which they were known. Today three of the buildings are occupied by City of Bristol College and two are being re-developed as private housing.
